The Vaccinator CPR 3-hr course is designed explicitly for authorised and pharmacist vaccinators and will cover all required topics and the necessary skills to manage a life-threatening emergency.
Description
This 3-hour resuscitation and first aid course is designed explicitly for authorised and pharmacist vaccinators and will cover all relevant topics and the necessary skills to manage a life-threatening emergency.
PURPOSE
This 3-hour resuscitation course aims to give vaccinators and pharmacists skills, knowledge, and confidence in providing relevant first aid in emergencies that may occur during an immunisation event or in other settings.
The course emphasises practical skills in an interactive learning environment and meets the requirements of Appendix 4.4 of the 2024 v3 Immunisation Handbook.
RECOMMENDED FOR
This course is required for authorised and pharmacist vaccinators who must biannually revalidate their resuscitation certification.
It suits new vaccinators and those revalidating their skills.
This course is also suitable for pharmacists who need to refresh their CPR skills every three years, as required by the Pharmacy Council's first aid policy.
It’s not suited for pharmacists entering the profession, as they need a full 12-hour Extended First Aid course.

Individual pharmacists may maintain higher competence than the Pharmacy Council requires. The decision should be based on self-reflection and assessment of their and their community's requirements. For example, a pharmacist practising next to a medical centre may only need to refresh CPR minimum every 3 years. In contrast, a pharmacist in a remote or rural setting may want to maintain their medical emergency training at a higher level, for example, an Advanced Resuscitation (ACLS) course.
The Vaccinator & Pharmacists CPR class is a 3-hour face-to-face course that we run in Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton, Tauranga, Palmerston North and Christchurch.
Private group courses are available across New Zealand. Click here to learn more about booking a private course for your group or organisation.
During the session, the attendees will be instructed on correct resuscitation techniques and will practice their skills.
